Dr. Katharine “Kate” White is double board-certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and Obesity Medicine, with expertise in menopause, sexual health, and metabolic medicine. She is a national voice in women’s midlife health, focused on helping women live longer, stronger, and healthier lives.
With decades of experience, Dr. White has provided comprehensive care alongside education and advocacy through her Lowcountry-based practice, national and international speaking engagements, and scholarly work. She also shares evidence-based education through social media and co-hosts the Heads and Tails Podcast with her husband, Jay White.
As her patient population evolved, Dr. White recognized the need for a more comprehensive approach to midlife care than traditional training provided. She pursued advanced training through The Menopause Society, International Society for the Study of Women’s Sexual Health, and the American Board of Obesity Medicine to better support women navigating hormonal, sexual, and metabolic health.
Dr. White believes that hormonal, metabolic, and psychological health are deeply interconnected, and that the cumulative load women carry plays a significant role in their overall well-being, particularly in midlife. She emphasizes validation of symptoms, shared decision making, and a comprehensive, systems-based approach to care.
Dr. White earned her undergraduate degree from Drew University and her medical degree from the Medical University of South Carolina. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Texas Medical Branch, where she trained alongside Dr. Mary Claire Haver and Dr. Sharon McCloskey.
Outside of her clinical work, Dr. White enjoys time with her husband and their two children and remains passionate about empowering women to feel informed, supported, and confident in this stage of life.
